What makes Malaysian politicians so outstanding in the world arena? Most of them speak good English. They can interact with the world leadership without much problem.
English is not just a language, it is a tool for technology advancement.
To implement English at an early schooling age is to prepare our rakyat for advancement in their adulthood. We do not worry about our own national language. It is part of us. It will not be down graded just because we speak English ( or any additional languages for that matter.)
Instead of making a fuss over the issue, educationist should look into an effective teaching method to prepare and equip our children for English. Drop racist mindset in this educational matter. It is for the good of our children and for a better Malaysia.

English has practically been "murdered" the day the Malaysian government stressed on learning Bahasa Melayu (which became Bahasa Kebangsaan and later Bahasa Malaysia and now back to Bahasa Melayu) by changing the medium of instructions in schools. Today, I doubt secondary students can even write proper English and use proper grammar.
After discovering the fact that English has reached the pits in Malaysia, our government now tries to salvage it but the damage done is already too serious. In fact, the education system in Malaysia has all these while been in "reverse gear". Why should they include "Bahasa Klasik" into the Bahasa Malaysia paper at SPM level? Shouldn't that be left to the Sastera paper?
Do these people ever remember what they have written in the "holy scripture" of Malaysia, the RUKUNEGARA, which states that "membina sebuah masyarakat yang adil dimana sains dan teknologi......". So tell me how bahasa klasik is going to help in this respect?
