Foreign Investment In Penang

The SUN paper reported on 29/5 that a second foreign investor Honeywell International is coming to Penang. Definitely this is a good news for Malaysia as well as for Penang. We just hope that more effort is put in to invite foreign investment in Penang.

Penang people must work hard to make Penang a friendly and safe place for tourists as well as investors. Penang residents must lend a helping hand to tourists whenever they need help. All business quarters must practice fair pricing for foreigners as well as locals. All public transportation agencies must instil into their employee the gentleness and politeness in interacting with tourists and foreign investors. Make them feel safe and welcome to Penang.

The state tourist agencies must motivate restaurants and food courts owners to introduce neat and tidy uniform for their staff, keeping the place clean, and decorate their food courts to make it comfortable and presentable to all clients.

The whole goal is to draw visitors to Penang and making Penang a memorable place for all foreign and local tourists. Penang must bring in more tourist money and foreign investment for job opportunities.

Back Fired

Having being side tracked since BN come into power, more time is spent harping on communal issues, creating millionaires and neglecting far sighted matters like machanised agricultural industry, raising up the living standard of rural folks, spending on upgrading rural public utilities, safe guarding Malaysian soverignty over some islands and safe passage in Malacca Straits etc.

Suddenly Malaysia lost its claim over Pulau Batu Putih.
In fact if we are not careful, too much emphasis on comfortable lifestyle, and easy money, our next generation will lose their job opportunity to foreign workers. When foreign workers are given opportunity to stay in and given ID, not too long after, they will form into political party and rule the country!? Otherwise they will bring along their culture of street protest, riots etc.Malaysian by large are peaceful people. However, some politicians have shown our younger generation how to go into the streets. Unknowingly our politicians have indoctrinated our younger generation the way of rebellious spirit, direct confrontation with the authority etc. In years to come, we would have brought up an unruly generation, hard to control, like the up rising mat remit who dares to challenge the law, throwing petrol bombs at authority etc.

We will reap what we sow now.
Therefore, it is time to be more nation concern rather than power concern for all our politicians. It is right to start thinking of claiming on some islands and territorial water and carry out some contructive activities in such islands.

We have not just lost Pulau Batu Putih.
We have lost many bright Malaysians to many nations. Malaysia should have been a better developed nation and far more advance in technology, and better in higher education if we have not been harping on minor issues and fattening our individual account. Without a nation there is no home. So let all Malaysians be more concern of our national matters, economy development, raising up our educational standard, introducing relevant and practical policies, not be a frog in a nut shell."Katak di bawah tempurong".

Visit some developed nations, and learn from our neighboring nations. Not spending off public fund, but learning for self improving and return to help building up Malaysia.

No Question About It At All

I saw in the paper with this headline Najib: Don't question Malays rights.(ST pg 12 : 20/5). Whenever I read such topic I really wonder what made our leaders to harp on this topic all the time. I do not think anyone has ever questioned the Malay Rights as stapulated in the constitutions. All right minded Malaysians do respect history and value our special heritage.

However, it was not the rights that is in question, it is the way other Malaysian communitites have been neglected that had caused our concern. It is the way talents are being wasted, business opportunities being reduced, cultures being humilated, grievence being ignored etc that hurts the conscience of some. Instead of looking straignt into the problem, some prefered to cast fear among their own to justify some policies and practices, though not written in black and white.

I believe any right minded Malaysian knows what is going on, and how other communities have bear with some of the unwanted practices. Nevertheless, the drift among the younger generation is our concern. If the government is truly concern about the drift among the younger generations, then look into how some practices had caused hurts and anger in them. Do the right and Malaysia will shine ! Shine to the shame of many developed nations.

End of Mahathir Era

I was surprised to read the news: ' I am quitting UMNO today'. Just as our former DPM Tun Musa Hitam said," Mahathirism concept is now over".

I have said it before, let history record our PM Abdullah as a man who restores UNMO to its original spirit for a Independent Malaysa (so now as Malaysia.) In history UMNO was there to fight for a Malaysian Malaysia, away from the yoke of colonialism. Together with MCA and MIC, the three of them representing the multi racial, multi cultural Malaysians, working towards a Malaysian Malaysia.

The victory and success of our initial achievement, with strong English language heritage, speeded up Malaysian progress, leaving a mark in the world arena. However, the greed of more power, and the greed of materialism drove our nation towards extremism, too much of emphasis on community glory, instead of national success.

Let us now go back to our initial Merdeka Spirit---- success for Malaysia, prosperity to be shared among the rakyat, justice for all people. A truly Malaysian Malaysia, taping on the cream of the nation, recognising the talents of the rakyat, and lifting up the poor of all communities.
While all is cared for, history is treasured. Our King should be restored as the Head of the Nation, monitoring the policies darfted by the Parliment. All the Sultans must be respected as the Head of the State, overseeing the state government. We should upholding our national identity through our national language, yet not neglecting English and cultural heritage of each individual community. The various colours of Malaysian Rakyat make it a wonderful attarction for the world, a selling point of tourism, a unique feature and a successful integration of culture and lifetyle.Malaysia Boleh!

Let our ex-PM be remembered for all that he had aspired for Malaysia, let UMNO review and re chart its course for future political direction.

Move On Please

It is quite common to face trafic jam on the road. However, some are unnecessary trafic jam. One of them is the quarrel of two vehicle owners over a slight accident. Just move the vehicles to the side of the road and allow trafic flow. Settle their little argument whenever they like.

Same with Malaysia politicians. Since the last general election on 8/3/08 these politicians have been unsettle over the results and wanting to regain their influences. Some demanded so and so to quit, others demanded our PM to step down, yet another quarrel over the number of representation in city councils etc.

I believe with the Cyclone in Myamar, the earthquake in China etc. Malaysians should be thankful to God for such a beautiful place to stay in. Its time to work not to quarrel. Time to get the country to move on. The people are suffering from uncertainty of the whole situation, the ever excallating prices of daily provisions, and the fear of poor economy. Come on, like a good sports man drop every little differences and quarrel, and not finding fault with one another, not putting people to jail etc....just get on with business, run the maange the daily affaire of the nation.

Move on please gentlemen !

Jail for writing an Article?

Shocked to see the fast action of the police against a writer Raja Petra Kamaruddin. If what he had written is offensive, a warrant of arrest should have come out from the court. He never hid himself. He is available anytime.

When a rakyat find time to write and share their thoughts openly on blog, as a rakyat we just wanted the respective authority to know how we rakyat feel about certain issues, or action, or policies. Since our PM has always insisted that he wanted to hear the voice of the rakyat, only then we write. We wanted to see a better Malaysia. We wanted to see correction where there is a fault. We just wanted to contribute towards a better governance.

We just hope that the authority will not take matters in a personal way. If our dear Raja Petra has committed any wrong, let the court decide. Let him defend himself in the court of law. If the court does not find him guilty, the police department must be sued for such rudeness and irresponsible action. No one is above the law.
