End of Mahathir Era

I was surprised to read the news: ' I am quitting UMNO today'. Just as our former DPM Tun Musa Hitam said," Mahathirism concept is now over".

I have said it before, let history record our PM Abdullah as a man who restores UNMO to its original spirit for a Independent Malaysa (so now as Malaysia.) In history UMNO was there to fight for a Malaysian Malaysia, away from the yoke of colonialism. Together with MCA and MIC, the three of them representing the multi racial, multi cultural Malaysians, working towards a Malaysian Malaysia.

The victory and success of our initial achievement, with strong English language heritage, speeded up Malaysian progress, leaving a mark in the world arena. However, the greed of more power, and the greed of materialism drove our nation towards extremism, too much of emphasis on community glory,instead of national success.

Let us now go back to our initial Merdeka Spirit---- success for Malaysia, prosperity to be shared among the rakyat, justice for all people. A truly Malaysian Malaysia, taping on the cream of the nation, recognising the talents of the rakyat, and lifting up the poor of all communities.
While all is cared for, history is treasured. Our King should be restored as the Head of the Nation, monitoring the policies darfted by the Parliment. All the Sultans must be respected as the Head of the State, overseeing the state government. We should upholding our national identity through our national language, yet not neglecting English and cultural heritage of each individual community. The various colours of Malaysian Rakyat make it a wonderful attarction for the world, a selling point of tourism, a unique feature and a successful integration of culture and lifetyle.Malaysia Boleh!

Let our ex-PM be remembered for all that he had aspired for Malaysia, let UMNO review and re chart its course for future political direction.
